It's difficult to write an adequate obituary of Robert J. Fischer, the 11
th world chess champion. Dick Cavett, the famous American television talk show host, has tried to describe his impressions and received nearly 200 comments so far.

Fergus Christie, Sales Director of Holloid Plastics Ltd., has offered manufacturing some 250,000 chess sets completely free of charge which could be distributed to schools throughout England. For Peter J B Wilson, ECF Director of Marketing, this "is the most exciting chess project I have ever had the pleasure of being connected with and potentially could change the face of English chess for ever".

Robert James ("Bobby") Fischer (March 9, 1943 - January 17, 2008), the 11
th World Chess Champion (1972-1975) has passed away in Iceland. He was
buried on January 21 at a churchyard near Selfoss (southern Iceland).
