European Club Cup 2006 has started with round 1. Here is the report of the Austrian Chess Federation and some press photos.
Women A big surprise is a 2,5:1,5 win of Mika Yerevan against Top-Favorit AVS Krasnoturinsk in the womens competition. Maia Chiburdanidze draws against Antoanete Stefanova. On board two and three Elina Danielian and Nino Khursidze win against Kosintseva-Sisters. So a win of Anna Muzychuk doesn´t help the russian team to avoid a team loss.
