Dear friends,

the Georgian Chess Federation has posted the official invitation of the European Team Championship being held in Batumi from November 27 to December 8,1999.

The Board of the European Chess Union has decided to hold the General Assembly in connection with the European Team Championship on December 6, 1999. According to 4.15 of the ECU Statutes, proposals from member federations to be included in the

agenda for the General Assembly should reach the Secretary General not later than

3 months before the beginnung of the General Assembly.

By the way, I would like to mention the following deadlines for bids:

• Individual European Chess Championship 2000: October 31, 1999
• European Junior Championship 2000: September 30, 1999
• European Youth Championship 2000: September 30, 1999.
