Circular Letter No. 03/2003
As you know, 1 March 2003 was the deadline for bids for all official European Championships 2004 and for the European Team Championship 2005. We have received the following bids:
1. European Team Championship 2005
- Gothenburg/Sweden
- Athens/Greece
- Istanbul/Turkey
2. European Individual Championship
- Antalya or Istanbul/Turkey
3. European Indiviudal Women´s Championship
- Dresden/Germany
- Antalya or Istanbul/Turkey
4. European Club Cup (Men and Women)
- Klagenfurt/Austria (Men and Women)
- St. Vincent/Italy (Men)
- Budapest/Hungary (Men)
- Istanbul or Antalya/Turkey (Men and Women)
- Rias Baixas/Spain (Men and Women)
5. European Youth Championship
- Capodoccia-Nevsehir/Turkey
- Pardubice/Czech Republic
6. European Youth Team Championship
- Capodoccia-Nevsehir/Turkey
7. European Senior Championship
- no bid, but maybe this championship can be held in connection with the European Master Games in Aarhus, Denmark
8. European Senior Team Championship
- Dresden/Germany
Inspections will be organized in April in order to decide upon the venues at the next Board Meeting being hosted by the Swedish Chess Federation in Gothenburg on 25 and 26 April 2003. The decision about the European Team Championship is reserved to our General Assembly in Plovdiv/Bulgaria.
Concerning the European Individual Championship 2003 our President Boris Kutin will announce the exact dates and the venue by the end of this week. We have received offers from Ekaterinenburg/Russia, Istanbul/Turkey and two from Greece.
Attached you will find an address list of all European federations. We would like to ask you to verify the current list and let us know all necessary changes. The editorial deadline of the ECU Manual 2003 is 15 March.
