Dear Friends,
For the European Championships 2009 we have received the following bids on time:
European Youth Championship (U10-18): Porto San Giorgio – Fermo /Italy, Batumi / Georgia, Struga / FYR of Macedonia, Cappadoccia / Turkey
European Club Cup (Men and Women): Struga / FYR of Macedonia, Porto Carras / Greece, Antalya / Turkey, Warsaw / Poland
European Individual Championship (Men and Women): Antalya / Turkey
European Amateur Championship: Pardubice / Czech Republic
Inspections are scheduled for the next weeks. The Board will take the final decision upon the venues at the next meeting in Novi Sad / Serbia which will be held from 23 to 26 August 2007. On this occasion the candidate cities will have the possibility to present their bids.
Attached you will find the first announcement about the European Senior Team Championship 2008 in Dresden / Germany.
The Turkish Chess Federation has offered to invite 4 arbiters from each continent to the World Youth Championship which will be held in Kemer – Antalya from 17 to 29 November 2007. The organizer will be in charge of full board and accommodation. European arbiters will be paid 500 € as a stipend. All federations being interested in sending an arbiter to Antalya should inform the ECU Secretarial by 1. August 2007. Thereafter the ECU President will decide upon the candidates who finally have to be approved by FIDE.
